Our learning sets are short courses running over 3 months to help you tackle real research and evaluation challenges.
About our learning sets
Learning sets are small, supportive groups focused on a specific topic, where you learn practical tools and immediately apply them to a real work project.
Each session helps you make progress on a task you bring – such as analysing data, preparing a survey, or measuring impact – so you leave with clear next steps and useful outputs.
The sets run every other week in 2‑hour sessions, mixing in-person and online formats. You bring a work project and we will increase your skills as you complete the project over the course of the learning set.
By the final session, you’ll have moved your project forward and increased your confidence and skills in research and evaluation.
Commitment and collaboration
Expect an average of around 1.5 days per month for 3 months, including face-to-face sessions and additional work.
While the training focuses on individuals, our ambition is for learning to be shared across teams. Please discuss this opportunity with your manager and/or team before starting, agree on the project you’ll bring, and plan how your insights will be shared and embedded after the set.

- confirmation of consent from your manager or team
Before the set begins, we’ll arrange a short 15-minute call with you and your manager or wider team. This helps us understand your project and team needs so we can tailor the sessions and deliver the most value.
