What we do

We build research skills and share knowledge with council staff, community groups, and local people, to help the council make better decisions.

Who we support

We are here to support people across our borough, from council teams and community organisations to local people.

What are the building blocks of health?

Being healthy isn’t only about healthcare or not being ill. Our health is shaped by the everyday conditions of our lives – the things that make it easier or harder to feel well, stay well, and live well.

Our funder

We are funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). They have invested £150 million in 30 HDRCs across the UK to help councils do more and better research.
